- Historical Significance: Apollonia is the largest archaeological site in Albania, founded around 588 BC by Greek settlers. It was a significant city dedicated to Apollo and was known for its production of naphtha, used for fuel and waterproofing.
- Key Features to Explore: Explore the monumental center of Agora, the communist-era air protection structures on the acropolis, the medieval church of St. Mary, and the museum showcasing artifacts from Apollonia's history.
- Notable Remaining Structures: Despite past disruptions, several significant structures remain visible, including the portico of the Bouleuterion (city council building), a Roman odéon (covered theater), and the impressive nymphaeum, a monumental fountain cascading down the hillside.
