Today we're off to Valbona, a charming village in northern Albania, nestled in the majestic Albanian Alps.
After crossing the majestic Lake Koman and its impressive natural scenery, we arrive in Fierza and take the local bus to the Valbona Valley, a National Park since 1996. It encompasses the Valbona River and its surroundings, with mountainous terrain, diverse rock formations, glacial springs, alpine landscapes with coniferous and deciduous forests. It is renowned for its preserved ecosystem, which has remained largely intact.
The Valbona Valley remains a must-see destination in the Albanian Alps.

You will settle in for a night in a guesthouse. We will prepare for a hike to the Rama sheepfold, where you'll meet a family of shepherds and sample local produce.

Early departure for Theth National Park, a natural gem in the Albanian Alps. It's renowned for its spectacular mountain scenery, verdant valleys, crystal-clear rivers and charming stone villages. Hikers and nature lovers will find it a paradise, with picturesque hiking trails, impressive waterfalls and a tranquil atmosphere. The park is also renowned for its rich biodiversity, home to numerous species of flora and fauna. Theth is an ideal place for outdoor enthusiasts looking for an authentic Albanian experience.
Enjoy this intimate contact with nature. In Theth, you'll have the opportunity to visit the village center (the isolation tower), which bears witness to centuries-old traditions such as the customary law of the Kanun of Lekë Dukagjini.

Morning transfer to the pretty village of Nderlysaj by local minibus to begin the day's hike to the Blue Eye, a natural treasure located in Albania's Theth National Park. It owes its name to its deep-blue crystalline waters, creating a striking image amidst the surrounding nature. The waterfall is fed by underground springs and surrounded by lush green forests and majestic mountains. The Cascade de Grunas is an ideal place for hiking and relaxing, offering visitors a serene experience in the heart of the natural beauty of the Albanian Alps. Along the way, we'll follow the valley of the Theth River to conclude the day's visits with the "tower of reconciliation", which awaits us with stories of the famous "Kanun de Lekë Dukagjini", an ancestral law passed down orally from generation to generation.

In the morning, you'll start your day in Theth, an enchanting village nestled in the Albanian Alps. The Tower of Vendetta is an iconic historical structure, bearing witness to the region's tumultuous past and the traditional practice of Kanun law, governing vendetta and family disputes. A visit to this tower will give you a unique insight into Albanian history and culture, and the way in which local communities have lived and dealt with conflict over the centuries.
After your visit to Theth, you'll take the road to Shkodër. The route follows the Qafë Thore road, known as one of the most scenic roads in Albania. This road winds through the mountains, offering spectacular views of valleys, alpine peaks and rural landscapes. Plan stops to take photos and make the most of the breathtaking panoramas.

The route is a real treat for nature lovers, with opportunities to observe local flora and fauna. The views of the Albanian Alps are particularly impressive, and the changing landscape along the way adds to the excitement of the journey.
