Overview
Today we are going to visit the city of Durres, a picturesque port town on the Albanian coast of the Adriatic Sea. It combines a rich ancient history, golden sandy beaches and a lively Mediterranean atmosphere. Our first stop is the Roman amphitheatre, dating from the 2nd century AD. Built during the reign of Emperor Trajan, it is one of the largest amphitheaters in the Balkans.
