Fir of Hotova National Park,

located near Përmet in southern Albania, is the country’s largest national park, spanning 34,361 hectares. Known as the “natural lungs” of the region, it boasts vast forests of Bulgarian Fir and other species. Established in 1996, the park is well-preserved, offering stunning landscapes, from snowy winters to cool summers. Visitors can explore meadows, ancient trees, and a diverse range of wildlife including brown bears and golden eagles. The park is accessible via an unpaved road requiring a 4×4 vehicle, and while there are no food facilities inside, nearby villages offer dining options. Fresh water is available from fountains along the route.
